I don’t know why I struggled with this painting so much. It started out with so much promise and I loved it so much, but then I painted a teal background and that was. the end of it. It went in a direction I didn’t like and the more I tried to fix it, the more it went in that direction.
In an effort to distract myself and get a little ahead for the next few paintings, I started three new paintings. Although, my plan to have several paintings going at once backfired when I finished two of those paintings right off the bat. I can’t complain too much though since I really like how they turned out and finishing them takes a little of the weekly posting stress off.
So, I started a couple more paintings, and realized I’m nearly out of canvases. I really do like working on the small panels, but I also enjoy working on canvas so I ran to the hardware store to buy trim. One store was closed and the other one sold me trim they didn’t have… again. They really need to learn how to inventory and I really need to start stocking up on trim when I’m in a bigger city with a Home Depot. I may even buy some wood for panels too. It doesn’t make sense to drive over 3 hours round trip just for trim though, so I have to make do with local stores most of the time.
Original art and prints are now available in my store. Just click on “Shop” in the menu to start browsing.
