Oil Painting Portrait – Part 6

20161201-img_6985

It’s almost done! I finally made some really good progress on this painting and the finish is clearly in sight. A quick peruse through my photos revealed that I’ve been working on it off and on since January. It’s now December. I have taken months off from working on it at a time due to frustration and disinterest. It could be me, but a year seems like it’s bit long to work on a single painting.

If you have to wipe away the dust before painting, it might be taking too long. I do live in a very dusty area though. Aside from layers of dust, there are so many layers of paint on it I’m impressed that it isn’t 3-D by now. Clearly, I need to practice more portraits. I recall my last portrait also taking roughly a year to complete.

Critiques welcome.
