Inktober 2019 – Week 1

Day 1 – Cat Skull

It has only been three days so far but I’m loving Inktober. This is my second year attempting the challenge. I wasn’t sure if I was going to participate at all, but I’m glad I am. I love using ink. It has to be in my top three all time favorite art supplies.

Day 2 – Beaver Skull

Usually when I do a 30 day challenge, I try to do at least a couple paintings ahead of time so I know I can take a couple of days off if I need to. Since I didn’t fully commit to this until the last minute though, I am doing these paintings on the day of. I’ll probably try to do two a day as often as possible though in order to give myself a buffer. October is a very busy month for me outside of Inktober.

Day 3 – Turtle Skull

This month is my first time really using masking fluid. It takes some getting used to, but I’m really enjoying it. I messed up several ink sketches last year because I failed to preserve my whites. I’m probably going overboard with my masking fluid use. Art is a learning process, and I’m always learning.
