Rock painting. It might be getting easier. A few good days don’t necessarily mean it’s actually getting easier, but it’s enough to lift my spirits and motivate me to actually work on this painting. I need to accentuate the colors more. The furthest cliffs are warmer because they’re still in sun, and the foreground is in shadow and cooler. The rocks could use a tad bit more definition and hard edges. More highlights, more time, more. I really need to get my butt in gear and paint more.
I’ve been listening to the suggestions given to me by my wonderful readers and focusing on using warm and cool reds. I haven’t been able to go out a buy new colors, so I’ve been working with what I have and I think it is in fact working. I’ve been mixing purples for my darks instead of using black and focusing on mixing more colors in general.
School will be starting back up in a couple of weeks so I’m crossing my fingers life will slow down just a little. I still have projects galore including planning an upcoming birthday party and working on making my kids Halloween costumes.
